La Torretta Chiantigiana

The 9 acre (3.6 hectares) estate includes a newly renovated main house with 5 BR,  fully independent guesthouse with 1 BR and outdoor pool amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, an olive grove, oak woods and vineyards.  The property sits on a natural terrace with breathtaking views of the Castello di Vicchiomaggio above and Castello di Verrazzano across the valley.  Both houses and their three terraces are tastefully furnished.

The property has a total of six bedrooms, each with independent air conditioning  units and window screens   In the main house,  the five bedrooms share three adjacent spacious bathrooms.   The light-filled Guesthouse is a fully independent unit with soaring spaces, a  master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, kitchen, living/dining room and furnished front porch. 

Adjacent to the main house, is  the swimming pool (10x4 meter), beautifully landscaped and with glorious views of both castles and surrounding vineyards and olive groves. The pool comes with a pergola covered with jasmine, lounge chairs and shade umbrellas.

The house is managed by Federica, who lives nearby and who can arrange cooking classes, in house chef, massage and additional cleaning services with advance notice.  She also is available to help with local information and bookings.

 We are in the heart of Chianti and surrounded by historic wineries and olive groves.  Nearby Greve, with its lively piazza, shops and restaurants, is less than 3 miles away.   Florence is about a 30 minute drive on the Chiantigiana and, en route, are Impruneta (the capital of terracotta) and the historic monastery of Certosa. Further afield, we are surrounded by medieval hill-towns, monasteries,  cooking schools and restaurants--from rustic to Michelin starred.  For golf lovers, the world-famous Ugolino Golf Club is a fifteen-minute drive away. The area also offers outstanding opportunities for biking, hiking and horse-back riding. E-bikes and vespas are readily available for rent and we have maps on hand for biking and hiking trails.

Eating-in is equally pleasurable and made easy by the freshest fare offered in town by the storied butchers, bread ovens, cheese, fruit and vegetable markets.     There is an outdoor grill on the back terrace with large stone table sitting 12 under a towering oak tree.

 Pictures do not capture the magic of this place, the scent of jasmine, roses and lavender, and the views of the castles and cypress trees emerging from the morning mist and framed by your bedroom windows when you awake.  You must experience it yourselves.
